Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before registering for or participating in the Burj2Burj Half Marathon. By completing your registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by this Agreement, including any updates made by the Organiser before race day.

Part A — General Terms

Clause 1

Introduction & Scope

1.1 These Terms & Conditions (the “Agreement”) govern registration for and participation in Burj2Burj 2027 (the “Event”), organised by World Iconic Events LLC (“WIE”).

1.2 The Event comprises two formats: the Burj2Burj Half Marathon (21.1km), on 24 January 2027, and the Burj2Burj Mini Marathon for children, on 23 January 2027. References to “the Event” in this Agreement apply to both formats unless stated otherwise.

1.3 By registering or participating, you agree to be legally bound by this Agreement. This Agreement applies to all entry channels, including direct, charity, partner, sponsor, run club, group, invited, ambassador, influencer, elite, and complimentary entries.

1.4 This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai shall have jurisdiction unless arbitration is invoked under Clause 22.

Clause 2

Definitions

Agreement means these Terms & Conditions in their entirety, together with the Burj2Burj Privacy Policy and any rules or instructions issued by WIE in connection with the Event.
Bib means the official race number issued to a registered Participant, incorporating a timing chip. The Bib is personal and non-transferable except by the formal Transfer process described in Clause 6.
Entry Fee means the fee paid to secure a race entry, as determined by the sales window active at the time of registration.
Entry Email means the confirmation email issued upon successful registration, containing event-specific instructions, links, and relevant information.
Event means Burj2Burj 2027, scheduled for 24 January 2027 in Dubai, UAE, including the Half Marathon, the Mini Marathon, and all associated activities.
Force Majeure means any circumstance beyond WIE’s reasonable control, including acts of God, government orders, extreme weather, public health emergencies, civil and regional unrest or conflict, war, acts of terrorism, and infrastructure failure.
Group means an informal collective — such as a workplace, friends, or community — registering 7 or more Participants together under a single coordinator, and not operating under a formal commercial agreement with WIE.
Mini Marathon means the Burj2Burj Mini Marathon for children, held on 23 January 2027.
Njuko means the official third-party registration and ticketing platform for Burj2Burj — the only authorised platform for Burj2Burj entries.
Participant / You / Your means the person registering for or participating in the Event (or, where applicable, a parent/guardian acting on behalf of a Mini Marathon Participant).
Partner means a contracted commercial entity — including sponsors, charity partners, hospitality partners, brand partners, or media partners — with a written partnership agreement with WIE that includes a participant entry allocation.
Run Club means a recognised running community registering Participants together under a club identity, with a designated club representative.
WIE / We / Organiser means World Iconic Events LLC, organiser of Burj2Burj.

Clause 3

Eligibility & Entry

Registration channels

3.1 Entry is available via the following channels only:

Direct online registration via Njuko — the official and only ticketing platform for Burj2Burj;
Approved charity, partner, run club, or group allocation, processed via Njuko with prior written approval from WIE;
Prize draws or promotions approved in writing by WIE;
Elite, invited, ambassador, influencer, or complimentary entry by WIE invitation.
3.2 No entry will be accepted through any other channel. WIE takes no responsibility for entries made through unofficial third-party platforms or resellers.
Warranties
3.3 By registering, you warrant that:
All information submitted is true, accurate, and complete;
You are medically fit and have trained appropriately for your selected format;
You meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements for your selected format;
You accept full responsibility for all individuals registered through your account;
You will complete all pre-race requirements before race day, including bib collection;
You have read and understood this Agreement in full.
Entries for personal use
3.4 Entries are issued solely for personal participation. They may not be used for any commercial, promotional, advertising, fundraising, competition, giveaway, sweepstake, hospitality, or trade-related purpose without prior written approval from WIE. Entries used in breach of this clause may be cancelled without refund. WIE reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove from the Event any person connected with a breach, and to take further action, including legal proceedings.
Age requirements
3.5 Minimum age requirements are:
Half Marathon (21.1km): 16 years or older on race day. No parental consent process applies; the Participant accepts this Agreement on their own behalf;
Mini Marathon: 3–12 years; must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Pace batches and start corrals
3.6 Half Marathon Participants are required to select a start batch based on their predicted pace selected during registration. Sub 1h30 batch entries require valid proof of a sub 1h30 half-marathon performance, in a chip-timed event, achieved within the qualifying period notified by WIE.
3.7 Sub 1h30 proof must be submitted to WIE by 28 December 2026. Participants who select the Sub 1h30 batch and fail to provide valid proof by this date will be re-allocated to the final start batch. WIE’s decision on batch allocation is final.
Other entry conditions
3.8 Event shirts and other merchandise sizes cannot be changed on-site. The size selected during registration is final.
3.9 Medals and prizes will only be issued during the official prize-giving ceremony on race day. If you miss the ceremony, it is your responsibility to collect your medal or prize from the WIE office at a time arranged with the WIE team. No medals or prizes will be shipped. In some instances, not being present at the prize-giving ceremony will result in forfeiture of the prize.
3.10 WIE reserves the right to accept or reject any entry at its sole discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
3.11 Strollers are permitted in the Half Marathon at the Participant’s own risk. The Participant assumes full responsibility for the safety of any child or person in the stroller and acknowledges potential risks to themselves, the stroller occupant, and other Participants. Pets and unregistered companions are not permitted on the course at any time.

Clause 4

Entry Fees & Refund Policy

4.1 Entry Fees are determined by the sales window active at the time of registration. Once a sales window closes, the previous window price will not be honoured.

4.2 Entry Fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to Participant withdrawal, injury, illness, personal emergency, travel disruption, visa refusal, or change of mind. Participant-initiated refund requests will not be granted under any circumstances.

4.3 If WIE cancels the Event in its entirety as a sole and direct decision of WIE (and not as a consequence of Force Majeure as defined in Clause 12), WIE may, at its sole discretion, offer Participants a deferral, partial credit, or alternative option. WIE is not obliged to issue a cash refund. Cancellations or modifications arising from Force Majeure are governed exclusively by Clause 12.

4.4 WIE is not responsible for travel, accommodation, visa, insurance, or any other ancillary costs incurred by the Participant in connection with the Event under any circumstance.

4.5 If you registered through a charity, partner, run club, or group allocation, any unused entry reverts to WIE.

4.6 No guaranteed entries to future events will be offered unless explicitly stated in writing by WIE.

4.7 No price reduction will be issued mid-window. Price reductions are not available to Participants who registered at a higher price within the same window.

Clause 5

Group, Run Club & Partner Entries

Groups

5.1 Group entries are available subject to the following:

Group size of 7 to 15 Participants: 10% discount on Entry Fees;
Group size of 16 or more Participants: 15% discount on Entry Fees;
Group entries must be paid upfront, in full, by the group coordinator;
All entries within a group must be paid and registered no later than 28 December 2026. Entries not paid or registered by this date will be forfeited;
Bulk bib collection is not permitted. See Clause 24 for bib collection rules.
Run Clubs
5.2 Run Club entries are available subject to the following:
Run Club size of 7 to 15 Participants: 10% discount on Entry Fees;
Run Club size of 16 or more Participants: 15% discount on Entry Fees;
Run Club entries must be paid upfront, in full, by the Run Club representative or by individual Participants under a Run Club allocation code;
All entries within a Run Club allocation must be paid and registered no later than 28 December 2026. Entries not paid and/or registered by this date will be forfeited;
Bulk bib collection is not permitted. See Clause 24 for bib collection rules.
Partners
5.3 Partner entries are governed by the individual partnership agreement between WIE and the Partner, in addition to this Agreement. The following apply to all Partner entries:
All Partner entries must be allocated, paid, and registered by 28 December 2026, OR within two (2) weeks of the Event reaching capacity (“sold out”), whichever is later;
Bulk bib collection is not permitted. See Clause 24 for bib collection rules.
General
5.4 Group, Run Club, and Partner discounts cannot be combined or stacked with any other promotion, code, or allocation. Each Participant may benefit from one discount or allocation only.
5.5 Group coordinators, Run Club representatives, and Partner contacts accept full responsibility for ensuring all Participants registered under their allocation have read, understood, and accepted this Agreement.
5.6 Entries allocated through Group, Run Club, or Partner arrangements may not be used for competitions, giveaways, or promotions — internally or publicly — without WIE’s prior written approval. WIE will cancel any affected allocation without refund if this occurs.
5.7 WIE reserves the right to withdraw any Group, Run Club, or Partner allocation at its sole discretion.

Clause 6

Entry Transfers

6.1 An entry may be transferred to another individual subject to the conditions in this Clause. Transfers are not available for Partner entries.

6.2 Transfer fees are:

AED 80 (plus applicable platform fees) for transfers requested on or before 4 October 2026;
AED 120 (plus applicable platform fees) for transfers requested between 5 October 2026 and 3 January 2027 (inclusive);
No transfers will be processed after 3 January 2027 under any circumstances.
6.3 The transfer fee must be paid by the original registrant. The fee may not be passed on to the incoming Participant or to any third party. WIE will not action a transfer where the fee is paid by anyone other than the original registrant.
6.4 The original Entry Fee is treated as already paid. The incoming Participant is not required to pay the Entry Fee again, regardless of the sales window active at the time of transfer. The incoming Participant is, however, required to complete a full registration under their own details on Njuko before the transfer becomes valid.
6.5 A transferred entry is non-refundable and may not be transferred again. The incoming Participant is bound by this Agreement in full from the moment of transfer.
6.6 Bib resale, gifting, swapping, or any unofficial transfer outside this Clause is strictly prohibited and will be treated under Clause 8.

Clause 7

Entry Deferrals

7.1 An entry may be deferred to Burj2Burj 2028 (and to Burj2Burj 2028 only) on medical grounds, subject to the conditions in this Clause. Deferrals are not available for any other reason, including injury or illness not certified under the requirements below, personal emergency, travel disruption, visa refusal, change of mind, or work commitments.

7.2 The deferral fee is AED 80 (plus applicable platform fees), payable at the time of processing the request.

7.3 The deferral fee must be paid by the original registrant. The fee may not be passed on to any third party. WIE will not process a deferral where the fee is paid by anyone other than the original registrant.

7.4 All deferral requests must be submitted by 3 January 2027. No deferrals of any kind will be accepted after this date.

7.5 A deferred entry may only be used for Burj2Burj 2028. It cannot be deferred again, refunded, or transferred to another person. If the Participant does not register for Burj2Burj 2028 within the deferral activation window communicated by WIE, the deferred entry is forfeited.

7.6 Deferrals are not available for Partner entries. Partners are responsible for managing their own internal substitution and medical policies with their allocated Participants.

Required documentation — medical deferral

7.7 All medical deferral requests must be accompanied by an official medical certificate that meets all of the following requirements:

Issued on the clinic or hospital letterhead;
Issued by a licensed medical practitioner;
Signed and stamped;
Dated prior to race day.
7.8 The certificate must include:
The Participant’s full name, exactly matching the registration on Njuko;
A statement confirming the Participant is medically unfit to participate in endurance running;
The date of medical examination;
The physician’s name, licence number, and contact details.
7.9 Diagnosis details are not required and need not be disclosed.
7.10 All medical deferral requests are subject to review and approval by WIE. WIE’s decision is final.

Clause 8

Bib Integrity & Anti-Fraud

8.1 Your Bib is strictly personal and non-transferable, except by the formal Transfer process in Clause 6. Race numbers are linked to your identity, your emergency medical record, and your timing chip.

8.2 The following are strictly prohibited:

Selling, gifting, auctioning, swapping, or otherwise unofficially transferring your Bib to another person;
Participating on behalf of another registered Participant;
Using counterfeit or duplicate registration credentials;
Purchasing entries with the intent to resell, gift, or use for promotional, marketing, hospitality, or giveaway purposes;
Using Group, Run Club, Partner, or complimentary entries to resell, gift, or use for promotional purposes without WIE’s prior written approval.
8.3 Bib swapping and resale constitute both a safety breach and commercial fraud. They:
Void insurance coverage for the actual runner;
Create a serious medical emergency risk; race medical records are linked to the registered Participant;
Corrupt official results, timing data, and qualifying standards;
Expose WIE to legal and commercial liability.
8.4 If a Bib swap or unauthorised transfer is detected:
Both the registered Participant and the person competing under the false Bib will be immediately disqualified;
Both will be banned from all future WIE events;
WIE reserves the right to pursue further legal action.

Clause 9

Assumption of Risk

9.1 Participation in the Event is entirely voluntary and involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Collisions, falls, and crowd-related incidents;
Extreme heat, humidity, or rapidly changing weather conditions;
Road and pavement hazards, including uneven surfaces;
Vehicle traffic at course interfaces and crossings;
Dehydration, heat illness, and exhaustion;
Cardiac and other medical events triggered by exertion.
9.2 By registering, you voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation and accept full responsibility for your own safety and well-being throughout the Event.
9.3 Strollers are permitted on the Half Marathon course at the Participant’s own risk. Pets, prams used as wheeled equipment for adults, and unregistered companions are not permitted on any Burj2Burj course.

Clause 10

Medical Consent & Fitness

10.1 By participating, you confirm that you are medically fit and have trained appropriately for your selected format.

10.2 You consent to receiving emergency medical treatment deemed necessary by the Event’s official medical team during the Event. To the extent permitted by law, WIE shall not be held liable for any medical emergency, injury, or death occurring on the course, as all medical interventions are managed by independent professional emergency services.

10.3 Medical decisions made in the interest of Participant safety — including disqualification, race withdrawal, or hospitalisation — are final and binding.

10.4 You authorise medical personnel to share treatment details with the Event’s Medical Director and WIE for safety and operational purposes.

10.5 WIE strongly recommends that all Participants obtain a physician’s medical clearance prior to registration. If you are aware of any medical condition that may be relevant to your participation, you accept full responsibility for disclosing this on your registration and to the medical team at pre-race check-in.

Clause 11

Insurance

11.1 WIE holds public liability insurance in respect of the Event. This cover does not extend to personal accident insurance for individual Participants.

11.2 All Participants are strongly recommended to arrange, at their own cost:

Personal accident and medical expenses insurance;
Ambulance and emergency evacuation cover;
Income protection insurance covering time off work due to injury.
11.3 International Participants are strongly recommended to obtain travel insurance that explicitly covers participation in road running events, and that covers travel disruption, event cancellation, and visa-related issues.
11.4 WIE will not be liable for any costs arising from medical treatment, emergency evacuation, or hospitalisation not covered by the Event’s public liability policy.

Clause 12

Event Modifications & Force Majeure

12.1 WIE reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or modify the Event — including the date, time, location, course route, distance format, start procedure, or safety protocols — at any time.

12.2 Force Majeure includes but is not limited to: government directives, security threats, civil and regional unrest or conflict, war, acts of terrorism, extreme weather, pandemic, infrastructure failure, and any event beyond WIE’s reasonable control.

12.3 In the event of cancellation, rescheduling, or material modification due to Force Majeure, WIE will use reasonable efforts to notify Participants via email and the Burj2Burj website, and may, at its sole discretion, offer a deferral, partial credit, or alternative option. WIE is not liable for travel, accommodation, visa, or any other consequential costs.

12.4 It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure their registered email address is current. WIE’s obligation to communicate changes is fulfilled upon sending to the registered email address.

Clause 13

Commercial Rights & Intellectual Property

13.1 All commercial, intellectual property, broadcast, digital, sponsorship, and merchandising rights in the Event are exclusively owned by WIE.

13.2 Participants acquire no commercial, endorsement, or licensing rights by virtue of their entry.

13.3 All Burj2Burj trademarks, branding, course maps, results data, timing data, and associated content are the protected intellectual property of WIE. Commercial exploitation of results or performance data requires a written licence from WIE.

Clause 14

Anti-Ambush Marketing

14.1 Participants, spectators, and unaffiliated brands shall not engage in ambush marketing in connection with the Event.

14.2 Prohibited actions include:

Promoting non-official brands in a manner that implies Event association or endorsement;
Displaying visible commercial branding designed for broadcast or media exposure without WIE’s authorisation;
Conducting unauthorised sampling, brand activations, or demonstrations at or near the Event;
Publishing influencer or social media campaigns that imply official Event endorsement without prior written approval from WIE.
14.3 WIE may require the immediate removal or covering of any unauthorised branding. Non-compliance may result in disqualification and removal from the Event.
14.4 Elite athletes, ambassadors, and content creators with official Burj2Burj partnerships are subject to additional commercial compliance terms agreed separately with WIE.

Clause 15

Broadcast, Media & Image Rights

15.1 All global broadcast, streaming, OTT, and archival rights in the Event belong exclusively to WIE.

15.2 By participating, you grant WIE a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use your name, image, voice, race number, and likeness in any Burj2Burj-related content, marketing, or promotional materials, without compensation.

15.3 Personal, non-commercial photography and video is permitted. You may not conduct drone filming, live monetised streaming, or professional filming without prior written accreditation from WIE. All drone operations must comply with UAE General Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai authority regulations.

15.4 To apply for a media permit, contact marketing@worldsiconic.com. Securing any additional government permits remains the applicant’s responsibility. Event permits do not automatically extend media rights to external production teams.

15.5 WIE may request the takedown of content that conflicts with official sponsor agreements. Content creators and influencers who receive accreditation agree to comply with any such requests.

Clause 16

Sponsor Category Protection

16.1 Official sponsors may hold category-exclusive rights as defined in their agreements with WIE. Participants must not publicly promote competing brands in connection with the Event in a manner that implies association or endorsement.

16.2 Elite athletes, ambassadors, and influencers are subject to additional commercial compliance obligations as set out in their individual arrangements with WIE.

Clause 17

Data Protection & Privacy

17.1 All official results, timing data, photography, and performance analytics are the property of WIE. Commercial exploitation of this data requires a written licence from WIE.

17.2 WIE will process your personal data in accordance with applicable UAE data protection law and the Burj2Burj Privacy Policy (burj2burj.com/privacy-policy) for the following purposes:

Event registration, marketing, and communications;
Safety, emergency communication, and on-course response protocols;
Publishing results and post-event statistics;
Media and promotional use, where applicable and subject to consent or legitimate interest;
Charity, sponsor, partner, run club, or platform integrations connected with Event delivery.
17.3 Personal data will not be sold to third parties. WIE may share data with sponsors and operational partners strictly in connection with the delivery of the Event.
17.4 By registering, you consent to the inclusion of your name, nationality, age category, and finish time in publicly published race results.

Clause 18

Event Safety & Conduct

18.1 Participants must comply with all instructions from Event marshals, medical personnel, WIE officials, and all official UAE authorities at all times.

18.2 Prohibited conduct includes:

Participating under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances;
Bringing animals, unauthorised wheeled devices, or equipment deemed unsafe by marshals;
Any racist, sexist, religious, or political messaging — on clothing, signage, or otherwise;
Vaping or smoking on the course or Event premises;
Selling, gifting, or unofficially transferring your Bib to another person;
Using another Participant’s Bib, falsifying entry information, or competing with counterfeit credentials;
Engaging in unsportsmanlike behaviour, harassment, intimidation, discriminatory language, or disruptive conduct.
18.3 Vaping, smoking, or consumption of alcohol on the course or at Event premises will result in disqualification and may result in a permanent ban from all future WIE events.

Clause 19

Disqualification & Sanctions

19.1 A Participant may be disqualified, sanctioned, or banned if they:

Use or permit their Bib to be used by another person;
Falsify entry details or use multiple identities;
Breach any provision of this Agreement;
Interfere with the integrity of the Event or its results;
Violate course rules, marshal instructions, or pace batch allocations;
Participate while below the minimum age for their format, or enable and assist underage participation;
Engage in any conduct prohibited under Clauses 8, 14, or 18.
19.2 Disqualification results in immediate removal from the course, forfeiture of any prize or placing, and no right to a refund of the Entry Fee.
19.3 Repeat or serious violations may result in permanent exclusion from Burj2Burj and all future WIE events. Both parties involved in a Bib swap will be permanently banned.

Clause 20

Government & Security Compliance

20.1 Participants must comply with all directives issued by Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Sports Council, and any other competent UAE authority in connection with the Event.

20.2 Security screening may be conducted at any Event venue, including the Expo, Start, and Finish areas. Participants are expected to cooperate fully.

20.3 Any conduct that violates UAE public order, law, or cultural standards may result in immediate removal from the Event and referral to the relevant authorities.

Clause 21

Limitation of Liability

21.1 To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, WIE excludes liability for:

Any personal injury, death, property damage, or loss sustained before, during, or after the Event;
Indirect, consequential, or business losses;
Loss of income, endorsement opportunity, or commercial expectation;
Illness or fatalities related to communicable disease or other health risks, unless caused by WIE’s proven gross negligence;
Loss or damage to personal property.
21.2 Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by proven negligence where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
21.3 WIE’s aggregate liability to any individual Participant shall not exceed the amount of the Entry Fee paid by that Participant.

Clause 22

Arbitration & Dispute Resolution

22.1 Commercial disputes relating to sponsorship, broadcast rights, intellectual property, or partner arrangements may be referred to DIAC (Dubai International Arbitration Centre) arbitration at WIE’s election.

22.2 Participant disputes remain subject to the mandatory jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

22.3 WIE encourages Participants to raise concerns in the first instance by contacting team@worldsiconic.com.

Clause 23

General

23.1 WIE reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions without prior notice. Continued registration or participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.

23.2 If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, invalid, or illegal, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.

23.3 These Terms & Conditions, together with the Burj2Burj Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and WIE in relation to the Event.

Applies on race day to the Half Marathon (21.1km). Mini Marathon-specific provisions appear in Part C.

Clause 24

Race Bib & Bib Collection

Bib collection — self-collection

24.1 All Participants are expected to collect their own Bib in person at the Burj2Burj Expo on the dates and at the venue published by WIE. An entry confirmation email and/or the entry QR code, as well as a Photo ID matching the registration, are required.

Bib collection — proxy collection

24.2 A Participant may authorise another individual to collect their Bib on their behalf, subject to the proxy presenting:

A copy of the Participant’s registration confirmation email or QR code;
A copy of the Participant’s photo ID;
The proxy’s own photo ID.
24.3 Bulk and multi-bib collections are not permitted under any circumstances. An individual proxy may collect Bibs for a maximum of one (1) other Participant in addition to their own Bib (where applicable). Group coordinators, Run Club representatives, and Partner contacts may not collect Bibs on behalf of multiple Participants in their allocation. Each Participant in a Group, Run Club, or Partner allocation must arrange their own self-collection or single-proxy collection.
Wearing the bib
24.4 The Bib must be affixed to the front of the Participant’s body — either pinned to the shirt or worn on a race belt at the hip/pelvic area. It must be permanently and fully visible throughout the entire race, positioned over all outer clothing.
24.5 The Bib may not be affixed to the back, a leg, or any position where it is not clearly visible to marshals.
24.6 The Bib may not be removed or covered at any point during the race. The timing chip is embedded in the Bib and must remain accessible to timing officials and Burj2Burj crew at all times.
24.7 Participants may not compete using a Bib issued to another Participant. Both parties will be disqualified and permanently banned from all WIE events. Refer to Clause 8.

Clause 25

Pace Batches & Start Procedure

25.1 Participants are allocated to a start batch based on their selection during registration. Batch assignment will be printed on the Bib.

25.2 Participants must report to their allocated start batch at the time published in the pre-race information. Participants who miss their allocated batch will be released with a later batch at the discretion of the Start Marshals.

25.3 Sub 1h30 batch entries are subject to verification of a sub 1h30 chip-timed half-marathon performance, achieved within the qualifying period notified by WIE. Proof must be submitted to WIE by 28 December 2026 (refer to Clause 3.7). Participants who do not provide valid proof will be re-allocated to the final start batch.

Clause 26

Course & Conduct

26.1 Participants must follow the marked course in its entirety. Shortcuts, deviations, or course-cutting are strictly prohibited.

26.2 Overtaking must be conducted on the course only. Participants must not leave the course to pass other Participants or to bypass congestion.

26.3 Littering on the course is strictly prohibited. All waste must be disposed of in bins at hydration stations and along the course.

26.4 Participants may run, walk, or crawl, but may not use any motorised or wheeled vehicle. All forward progress must be under the Participant’s own power, with the exception of permitted strollers (refer to Clause 3.11).

26.5 Participants must yield to emergency vehicles and event safety personnel and must comply immediately with marshal and police instructions.

Clause 27

Cut-Off Times

27.1 The Half Marathon has a total finish cut-off of 3 hours from the start of the final batch. Participants who do not cross the finish line within 3 hours will be recorded as Did Not Finish (DNF).

27.2 On-course cut-off times will be enforced at intermediate checkpoints. The full schedule of on-course cut-offs will be published in the pre-race Runner’s Information Pack and on the Burj2Burj website. Cut-off times are strictly enforced.

27.3 To continue racing, a Participant must reach each cut-off point before the designated cut-off time, regardless of their start time within their allocated batch.

27.4 Participants who miss a cut-off must comply immediately with the instructions of marshals. Failure to obey is a disqualification offence. Participants may be removed from the course by sweep vehicles.

Clause 28

DNF Procedure

28.1 A Participant needing to withdraw must proceed to the nearest hydration station, marshal point, or finish area and notify a marshal.

28.2 A Participant who is unable to continue unaided must remain on the course, stay visible, and either signal to a marshal or call the emergency number printed on their Bib (refer to Clause 29).

28.3 Any Participant who leaves the course without notifying race officials will be treated as missing. Search protocols will be activated and the Participant may be banned from future WIE events.

28.4 WIE may provide a sweep service from cut-off points to the finish area or to designated drop-off points. Service frequency cannot be guaranteed.

Clause 29

Emergencies & Safety Protocol

29.1 Each Bib will display the event emergency contact number. Participants are responsible for ensuring they note this number prior to the start, including by saving it on their phone.

29.2 If you become immobile or require medical assistance on the course:

Stay to the side of the course and remain visible to other Participants and marshals;
Signal to the nearest marshal, medical team member, or police officer;
Call the emergency number printed on your Bib and provide your race number, full name, and approximate location (street, kilometre marker, or nearest landmark);
If you cannot signal or call, ask another Participant to alert the nearest marshal.
29.3 If you witness another Participant in distress, you must alert the nearest marshal, call the emergency number on your Bib, or stop to assist where safe to do so. Failure to assist a Participant in clear medical distress may, at WIE’s discretion, result in disqualification.
29.4 Once reached by the medical team, you will either be treated and permitted to continue (where medically appropriate) or evacuated to the nearest medical facility by ambulance.
29.5 Receipt of an intravenous (IV) drip from the Event medical crew will automatically disqualify the Participant from continuing in the race.
29.6 All Participants must register an emergency contact during registration. WIE may contact this person in the event of a medical incident. It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure the emergency contact details are accurate and current.

Clause 30

Timing & Results

30.1 Electronic timing is active at the start, finish, and intermediate timing points along the course. Participants must present themselves at every timing point.

30.2 Preliminary results will be published within 6 hours of the Event finishing. Final results, including any post-race corrections, will be published within a reasonable period.

30.3 Protests against published results must be submitted to WIE at team@worldsiconic.com within 24 hours of preliminary results going live. Protests will be reviewed by a three-person committee comprising the Race Director and two independent parties. The committee’s decision is final and binding.

Clause 31

Bag Drop & Personal Belongings

31.1 A bag drop service is available only at the Burj2Burj Expo. There is no bag drop facility at the start area, on the course, or at the finish area on race day. Participants must make their own arrangements for personal belongings on race day.

31.2 WIE accepts no liability for loss of, damage to, or theft from any item left at the start, finish, course, or anywhere on the Event premises on race day.

31.3 Bags deposited at the Expo bag drop facility must be collected within the operating hours published. Bags not collected by the published deadline may be donated or disposed of. WIE will not ship uncollected items.

Acceptance of Terms

By completing your registration for Burj2Burj 2027, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by this Agreement in its entirety — including Part A (General Terms), Part B (Race-Specific Rules & Regulations), and, where applicable, Part C (Mini Marathon Terms). This Agreement, together with the Burj2Burj Privacy Policy, constitutes the full agreement between you and World Iconic Events LLC in relation to the Event.
