A few words about myself:

I started running at age 42 having never believed I could do such a thing. I wanted to challenge myself and to get fit at the same time.

I joined DCS over 15 years ago and during this time they have helped me to train and finish 6 ultra marathons, 22 marathons and way too many half marathons to count but most importantly they taught me to do it with a smile on my face.

I love to run and I love to do long distance – after all it takes me 3k to get the old legs into a rhythm!

The DCS gang are very special and inspired me to do crazy things such as the ultras. I couldn’t do the weekend long training runs without the support of the club runners. Chatting away the kilometers and sharing experiences is much easier with a friend.

Running with DCS has given me many personal rewards but the best has to be the friends I’ve made along the way who have been part of this journey.

There is something magical about running; after a certain distance, it transcends the body. Then a bit further, it transcends the mind. A bit further yet, and what you have before you, laid bare, is the soul.”

Every time I run it's with the mindset that if I die at this race, it's OK."

I run because if I didn’t, I’d be sluggish and glum and spend too much time on the couch. I run to breathe the fresh air. I run to explore. I run to escape the ordinary. I run…to savor the trip along the way. Life becomes a little more vibrant, a little more intense. I like that.”
