Well Well Well…the journey to dream about Mumbai Marathon started in the year 2013, it was the time when i started running and tried multiple times to finish in qualifier running events around but couldn’t achieve at that time to register for Mumbai Marathon.
Year 2017, I started training for my maiden 42k – Dubai Marathon and could finish in 6hrs 35mins, this finishing helped me to get registered to TMM and to get one step closer to achieve one of my dream.
Due to super busy days in office i could not train well for this one but mentally i was prepared to earn the TMM medal. Thanks to all my near and dear ones who motivated me that this is just a cake go get it!!!
One night before race day i was feeling like to drop the plan and take rest as I couldn’t sleep well for 2-3 weeks, but then there was one madness inside me which was telling me that it is now or never.
Finally when i came to the start line i thought to finish this one same time of Dubai Marathon and happily achieve what i wanted, hence started very slow and by now looking at my Garmin i could easily cross half way thru.
At the Iconic Bandra Worli Sea Link i met Yogi aka Yogendra Yadav we had nice clicks together and then decided to run together as long as we could. Post 30k mark both me and Yogi were struggling and was trying to motivate each other to finish.
Honestly speaking, if Yogi wouldn’t be running with me, i would almost in the plan to give up and go home as both my legs had given up and i was somehow dragging myself with all the mental strength I had…
For the first time my entire family was waiting at the finish line for me so i had no other plan than to finish strong, come what may. Overall had an amazing experience running at home town, specially the route was so amazing that one needs to be trained well for this one.
Next up on my list is ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon this year in December. lets see how does my next marathon looks like. Till then Keep smiling, Keep Running, Keep Inspiring, Cheers…
